Our entire wine variety share the same quality, as each wine is made through the same process, with variations in grapevine and aging only.
Currently, Isasmendi Winery produces approximately 10,000 liters of wine a year. This amount allows us to carry out a micro-fermentation process with 500 kg of grapes. It also allows for practices such as head plunging, constant observation of the must and a system of close attention that is reflected in the final product. All our wines are aged for at least 12 months in oak barrels, and they are stowed in the bottle for 6 more.
As a result of this painstaking and patient process, intense, dark and very aromatic wines are made, with a deep structure, red berry highlights and a violet aftertaste.
"I have nothing to say: the wine speaks for itself."
Jean Paul Bonnal
Familia Isasmendi is a hand crafted, high-end wine made at the foot of the Nevado de Cachi mountains, 2400 mamsl. It is made with grapes which have been picked in its ideal stage of maturation. The grapes were grown under the influence of a wide temperature range and in a sandy-loam soil which is ideal to foster polyphenol development. These can be found in the wine in full strength, offering an excellent concentration of aromas, flavors and colors.
It offers an intense ruby color and anticipates a red berry aroma. On the palate, you can enjoy the flavor of the sweet and pleasant tannins. Excellent balance.
Aging: Twelve months in French oak barrels. It might show suspended matter due to the lack of treatments and filtration. We suggest you uncork one hour before serving and decanting.
Drink preferably at 18 ºC.
